Penacook Place declared deficiency-free by Department of Public Health

(Jan., 13, 2010)-- Penacook Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is deficiency-free, according to the state Department of Public Health's Division of Healthcare Quality's recent inspection survey. The facility received an average score of 127. The statewide average score is 121.

The division inspects Medicare and Medicaid certified nursing homes annually to assess compliance with federal and state standards of care. Inspectors evaluate administration, nursing care, resident rights, food service and the overall environment of each facility. Inspection surveys are unannounced. Those conducting the surveys are health care professionals such as registered nurses or licensed social workers.

"Penacook's dedicated staff strives each day to provide a superior level of care and comfort to residents," said President and Chief Executive Officer Julian Rich. "Because of their honest sincere efforts in that regard and their professionalism, Penacook has received excellent marks from the state for the quality of care it provides."
