HAVERHILL – Penacook Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center will honor Trinity EMS President & CEO John Chemaly with the 2009 Outstanding Service to Seniors Award, during its 5th Annual Awards Dinner and Silent Auction at the Haverhill Country Club on Thursday, April 2, at 6 p.m. Chemaly, who resides in Chelmsford, was raised in the Greater Lowell area and is committed to supporting his community and the larger region in which his company operates. Trinity currently holds 911 emergency response contracts in many of the communities along the 495 belt, including Haverhill. The company also serves a number of area hospitals, assisted living facilities and nursing homes, including Penacook Place. In spite of his busy schedule focusing on the development and long-term goals of Trinity EMS, Chemaly is actively involved in numerous community service efforts. He has committed time and resources to many non-profit organizations, including several – such as the Alzheimer’s Association, American Heart Association and Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley – that benefit the region’s elderly population. Currently, Chemaly serves as a board member and clerk of the National Ambulance Association. He also serves on the boards of Jean D’Arc Credit Union, The Paul Center, Merrimack Repertory Theater, The Lowell Plan and the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce, of which he is also the health committee co-chair. “John Chemaly has been a friend of Penacook Place since 1998 and we have always been able to count on his support,” said Penacook’s President & CEO Julian Rich. “John and his company have gone above and beyond for Penacook time and time again. He is very deserving of this special recognition.” Those who wish to personally honor Chemaly and support Penacook’s continuing fundraising efforts may do so by becoming an event sponsor, donating a silent auction item, purchasing a ticket to the dinner and auction, or making a financial donation. Tickets are $40 per person. For more information, contact Karen Tarzia at 978-374-0707. Funds raised from this event will help Penacook sustain the programs that enhance the quality of life of its residents. Located at 150 Water St., the 160-bed Penacook Place is the only not-for-profit nursing and rehabilitation facility serving the city of Haverhill. Penacook Place has a professional staff of 230 employees. |
