Penacook Place receives high marks in Department of Health satisfaction survey HAVERHILL – Family members of residents at the not-for-profit Penacook Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center once again report that they are very satisfied with the care that their loved ones are receiving, according to recently released results of the Department of Public Health’s Nursing Home Satisfaction Survey. “The entire staff should be very proud that Penacook continues to be the premier nursing home in the region because of their efforts,” said President & CEO Julian Rich. Family members of nursing home residents across Massachusetts completed the survey. Using a scale of 1-5, with 1 being “very dissatisfied” and 5 being “very satisfied,” the survey asks questions related to the resident’s needs, quality of staff, the physical environment, activities, personal care, food and meals and residents’ rights. Facilities are scored on overall satisfaction as well as in specific categories. Penacook Place received 4.57 for overall satisfaction, well above the statewide average and the highest score of all five Haverhill nursing homes that participated in the survey. Penacook also scored well the last time this survey was conducted two years ago. The facility’s average overall satisfaction score is up from 4.49 in 2005. “The continuing dedication of everyone here to fulfill the Golden Rule of Penacook Place, to care for our residents as we would want to be cared for, is the reason for such positive feedback from residents’ loved ones,” said Rich. Penacook Place is a member of the Massachusetts Aging Services Association (MassAging), a statewide organization representing not-for-profit providers of housing and services for the aging. Located at 150 Water St., the 160-bed Penacook Place is the only not-for-profit nursing and rehabilitation facility serving the city of Haverhill. Penacook Place has a professional staff of 230 employees. Contributions that support the Employee Fund, purchase of new equipment, renovations and resident activities can be made to the Friends of Penacook Fund, c/o Penacook Place, 150 Water St., Haverhill, MA, 01830. |
